Milano Exes’ reunion, homecoming Oct. 23
MILANO—The annual Milano Ex-Students Association reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the MHS cafetorium. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and the noon barbecue meal will be catered by The Crossing, at $10 per plate.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the homecoming football game will be held Friday, Sept. 10.
The Association is again taking donations for a silent auction. Items can be brought the morning of the reunion. Proceeds go for mailing costs and scholarships. Items are also needed for a live auction.
Applications are being accepted for the Association’s Fall Mini Scholarships. All MHS graduates who have at least one year (two semesters) of schooling and are enrolled for this fall are eligible. Call Carolyn Hafley, Association secretary, at 512-454-2473 or email carolynhaf firstname.lastname@example.org and she will mail, email or fax an application.
“This year we are proud to have Ann Hashem Kraft attend the reunion, not only as an exstudent (Class of ‘88) but as a published author. A nn has written The Opera Ghost Lives,” Hafley said.
“If you ever wondered what happened to the characters in the Phantom of the Opera, Ann has written a romantic but suspenseful novel that answers that,” Hafley said. “She will have her books available for sale and she will be glad to sign them too.”
“Our MHS Exes’ reunion brings in funds to help our kids achieve their goals, so make plans to attend and if you can’t, try to make a donation and add to our scholarships,” Hafley said.
Flyers for the reunion will be mailed out Sept. 1.
