Big weekend for shopping in Rockdale
Denice Doss
What a whirlwind summer this has been. And it never did slow down this year. So here we are back into the busiest time of the year, the fall.

I took the summer off from Local Hero but it will start back again next week with new sponsors and a new lineup of local heroes.

If you have someone who has made a difference in your life please call the Chamber at 446-2030 to make your nomination for Local Hero.

Garage Sales

This is the big weekend for our Community Wide Garage Sale and Market Day. We know that this is the weekend to find that bargain so get your shopping shoes and hit the pavement.

There will be garage sales all over town plus Market Day booths. What a great day this will be.

Thanks, board

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Chamber Board of Directors. This board is supportive of the Chamber and supportive of what the Chamber means to the community.

They are a hard working group who mean a lot to Rockdale and to the Chamber.

The members are Cody Caldwell of Comfort AC, our board chairman; Cindy Jerman of Workforce Solutions, chairman-elect; Becky Marek of Busy Bea Restaurant and KRXT, treasurer; Debra Jackson, director; Deedra Jacob of Little Tikes Learning Center, director. Michelle Lehmkuhl, Attorney at Law, past chairman.

Also, Chris Dyess of Dyess Insurance, director; Mitul Patel of Best Western Motel, director; Debra Burroughs of Classic Bank, director; Joyce Ford of SewnThings, director; Wallace Jones of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, director; Hunter Matula of Hunter’s Computer Shoppe, director; Michelle Morgan of Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, director.

Until next time I leave you with this: It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.
