Four draw sentences on drug-related charges

CAMERON—Four persons drew terms ranging from probation to a jail sentence last week in Judge Ed Magre’s 20th District Court. with all four cases involving drug charges.

Prosecutor Kerry Spears listed case dispositions as follows:

• Joel Shane Ward, 44, Caldwell, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams), 10-year term in the Texas Department of Corrections, probated for five years, plus substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, $140 restitution.

• Gary Dean Buchalla, 49, Brenham, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams), 10 years deferred adjudication probation, substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, $140 restitution.

• Courtney Diane Mayfield, 18, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), five years deferred adjudication probation, substance abuse evaluation and any recommended treatment, $140 restitution.

• Jamey Lenard Brewer, 31, Houston, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), 18-month state jail term, $140 restitution.
