Computer classes at Workforce office

Free computer classes wil beign at the Workforce Solutions office, located at the One Stop Center (313 N. Main St.) in Rockdale. Classes include computer basics, internet, emial, Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Publisher. Seats are limited so call 512-446-6440 for more information.

S&W finalizes merger with Taylor hospital

TAYLOR–Scott & White Healthcare announced recently plans to merge with Johns Community Hospital in Taylor. They finalized the merge last week, and announced the new name of Scott & White Hospital - Taylor with a celebration Sept. 2.

Scott & White has 10 regional clinics in the Williamson County area.

Relatively few changes are expected and patients will continue to see “business as usual” for the time being. The S&W Clinic in Taylor will continue its operation as well. The clinic has operated in Taylor for almost 25 years and serves approximately 12,000 patients annually.

Next free business workshop announced

The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Business Center are teaming up to sponsor a “Human Resourse 101 Workshop” on Friday, Oct. 1 at the Rockdale Workforce Center.

The workshop will run from 9-11 a.m. and seating is limited. To reserve your free space, call Cindy Jerman at the Workforce office, 512-446-6440.
