Ballot fills up in Gause ISD school board race

GAUSE–Nine persons have filed for four slots in the upcoming Gause ISD trustee election on Nov. 2, superintendent Perry Bell said. The district’s school board elections are held on general election day, rather than in May like other area school districts.

Seats up for election are those currently held by Mikel Reed, Bill Jones, Melanie Rasco and Dave Cunningham. Reed, Jones and Rasco all filed to run for another term. Cunningham, who has served on the board for more than 20 years and is the current board president, decided not to run for re-election.

Others on the Nov. 2 ballot for the GISD school board election are Kathy Turner, Robert Miller, Judy Roper, Art Sullen, Randy Grenwelge and Wayne Lee.

Early voting will run Oct. 18- 28 at the Gause school office, with polling taking place at the Gause Community Center on Nov. 2.
