City of Thorndale holds tax rate hearings

THORNDALE—City council members in Thorndale held public tax rate hearings Sept. 8 and Monday.

City Secretary Denise Melde said the council plans to adopt the 85-cent tax rate, the same as this year, at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at City Hall.

Council members also met in regular and special sessions and appointed Shirley Becker as parttime municipal court clerk and purchase of a 2008 patrol car.

The council okayed an Atmos Energy rate, effective Oct. 1, approximately $1.40 for residential customers and $3.15 for businesses, Melde said.
