Eighteen entities will benefit from the 2010 drive, which gets under way in October.

The $50,000 goal is the same as last year’s in a scaled-down post-Alcoa era and Puente says South Milam UW expects to meet that goal.

“We’re at $44,000 right now,” he said. “We’ve met requests for the first two quarters and we’re South Milam County United Way, PO Box 189, Rockdale, 76567.

Christmas Round-Up, Eastside Tutoring, Milam County Child Protective Services, Original Twelve Civic & Social Club, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Rockdale Christian Services, Rockdale Multi-Service Center; Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels, South Milam County Boy and Cub Scouts.

South Milam County Emergency Fund, South Milam Medical and Dental Fund, Thorndale Cares, Thorndale Senior Citizens.
