Christian Music Fest Saturday

Saturday, Oct. 2 from 6:30- 9:30 p.m. is the Gause Community-Wide Christian Music Festival and the Gause Baptist Church note-burning celebration. Church members invite everyone to attend because without generous donations from people everywhere we wouldn’t have been able to pay off the note as quickly.

Barbecue sandwiches, chips, tea and desserts will be served. If you want to sign up to sing and/or play, call Matt Sanders at 979-279-6191. New flooring was installed in the gym last week and it looks great.

Norman and Linda Koch hosted the annual Koch family reunion on Sept. 25 at their country home. About 50 family members attended, from Houston, Waco, Gatesville, Navasota, Hearne, Bryan, College Station and Hanover. Sissy’s Saddle Shop Cafe in Marlow catered a barbecue meal with desserts furnished by family members. The group spent the day “catching up” and a few went for a swim in the pool.

Tammy Neal reports her mom Tootsie Brown came through her knee surgery fine on Monday.

Edith Smith is home and recovering from knee replacement surgery.

Gause Junior High football team won their game against Waco TCA last week and on Thursday will play in Holland at 5 p.m. GJH volleyball team will play at 5 p.m. Monday at Allen Academy.

Gause soccer teams had their first games Saturday and the youngsters looked as if they were having fun. Again this Saturday and each Saturday through Nov. 4 the games will begin at 8:30 a.m. and completed by noon.

It was great to see Lizzie Light in church Sunday. She has had some health problems and hasn’t been able to attend. She recently celebrated her birthday as well.

Gause Community Improvement Program will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at the Community Center. We invite you to attend.

Milam County 4-H Clubs are selling tickets until Nov. 11 with 13 items to be given away, including a granite bench (retail value $3,250), three different guns, $250 gift certificate at the Spa at Canyon Oaks and more.

4-Hers across the county will be selling tickets and proceeds go back to the 4-H Council and Clubs. Gause 4-H will hold their annual fall carnival and auction at the school cafeteria Saturday, Oct. 23.

Kristi Lee and Jaxon visited in the Houston area over the weekend with relatives and friends.
