Salado’s ‘Christmas in October’ set for Friday and Saturday

SALADO—Fall is around the corner and with cooler weather comes the Salado “Christmas in October” celebration and market scheduled for 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The event on the grounds of the Salado Civic Center will have over 32 booths and tables. This is the annual fund-raiser for the Salado Chamber of Commerce and Ladies Auxiliary and is always well attended.

The vendors w ill feature home decor items, jewelry, gifts and many other unique items.

“Money raised from the fundraiser is given back to the community in various ways,” according to Barclay McCort, publicity chair.

Visitors to Chr istmas in October will have access to light refreshments or may purchase grilled items sponsored by the United Methodist Men. Many baked goods will also be available for purchase in the Village Artists Building.

“For the men, Dr. Ellis will have many of his antique cars on display,” McCort said.

Holiday entertainment will be provided by John Schaun on the keyboard at various times both days, while on Saturday the Community Chorus will perform along with several local high schools.

“Models w ill be strolling through the grounds showing off fall fashions,” he said.

Door prizes will be given away every hour both days and admission price is $1 with free parking available.
