City-wide clean up this weekend

A city-wide cleanup is set in Milano this week, Oct. 6-

10. Luggers will be located

on the south side of the civic

center. No barrels, tires, batteries,

chemicals or oil will be

accepted.

Flu shots will be given at the

Milano Civic Center from 10 a.m.

to noon Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Make plans to attend the Friday,

Oct. 8 pep rally where you

will get to see which teacher or

administrator gets to “kiss the

pig” as part of a fund-raiser for

the PATCH Club. The teacher/

administrator from each campus

with the most money put in their

envelop will have the honor of

kissing the piggy.

The next Milano Elementary

PATCH Club meeting is set for

6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the

school library.

Thanks to everyone who made

the annual school fall festival on

Friday a huge success. There

were lots of fun and games for everyone. This year’s event was

held at the new elementary school

grounds.

On Thursday, Oct. 14, Milano

ISD will hold a National Hat

Parade. Students that want to

wear a hat to school are asked

to pay $1. Proceeds from this

event go to The Heavenly Hats

Foundation that collects and

distributes brand new hats of all

kinds to those of all ages who lose

their hair due to the treatment of

cancer or the many other medical

conditions which may cause

hair loss.

Milano Evening Lions Club has

their 2010 fund-raiser going on at

this time. Tickets are $2 each or

five for $3. Prizes are Walmart

gift cards in the amounts of $350,

$150 and $50. Drawing will be

held Friday, Nov. 5.

The annual reunion for former

Milano ISD students is set for

Saturday, Oct. 23 in the Milano

High School cafeteria. A barbecue

meal by The Crossing will be served at noon for $10 a plate.

Milano Athletic Booster Club

will be ver y busy during the

coming weeks. The group’s next

meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct.

11 at the elementary cafeteria.

The are planning a chili supper

for Friday, Oct. 22 before the

football game and a spaghetti

supper on Friday, Nov. 5 before

the last home football game. If

Milano First Baptist Church

will host a Christmas Bazaar at

the church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 4. Contact the

on setting up a booth to sell

items.

their sister Juanita Brashear of
