Court meets at City Hall

Municipal Court is located at City Hall, 505 West Cameron (US 79). The Court is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays except holidays.

Municipal court fines may be paid by credit card, cashier’s check, money order or cash (if in person).

Arraignment is held once a month for Class C misdemeanors and trials are held every other month.

If you are summoned for jury service, remember that it is an obligation of citizenship which is essential to the judicial process. It is an opportunity for the citizens of Rockdale to make a meaningful contribution to ensure that justice is provided in our community.

Any citation for a Class C misdemeanor issued by a Rockdale police officer within the city limits is filed with Rockdale Municipal Court.

The court has jurisdiction over offenses committed within the city limits which are violations of a state statute or violations of a municipal ordinance.

Common city ordinance violations include animal at large, failure to maintain property, junk vehicles, curfew violations by juveniles, and excessive noise.

Municipal court follows the procedures required by state and federal laws to provide all court participants the rights guaranteed to them under the United States Constitution and the State of Texas.
