Winkler

Services for Bobbie Ann Winkler, 72, of Rockdale were held Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Margaret Clemings, VistaCare Hospice chaplain, offi- ciating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Winkler died Saturday, Oct. 9, in Manor Oaks Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Lexington to Leland and Marguerite (Avrett) Sorenson.

She married Gilbert Winkler on Aug. 11, 1956, in Lexington.

Mrs. Winkler was a homemaker and also worked as office manager for John’s Community Hospital in Taylor from 1970 to 1991.

She attended Nixon Clay Business College and enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and crocheting.

Mrs. Winkler was a Rockdale resident for the past 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gilbert Winkler, on May 16, 2003.

Survivors are a son, David Winkler and wife Donna of Rockdale; three daughters, Deborah Sims and husband Jim, Diane Winkler and husband Terry Drummond, Dana Gerlock and husband Eric, all of Rockdale; six grandchildren, Nikki Cryer and husband Chad, Nicholas Morehead and Erica Gerlock, all of College Station; D.J. Morehead of Dallas, Staci Winkler of Austin, Emily Gerlock of Rockdale; and two great-grandsons, Garrett and Ethan Cryer of College Station.

Pallbearers were Rudolph Schneebeli, Alan Baines, Ty Wedemeier, Jonathan Muston, Bill Foster and Joel New.
