Franklin Franklin LA MARQUE—Funeral services for William Dempsey Franklin, 88, were held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with Pastor Tom Medlin officia ting. Interment followed at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.

Mr. Franklin died Sunday, Oct. 10, in Webster.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1921, in Thorndale to William and Hallie Franklin.

Mr. Franklin was a retired warrant officer of 30 years, serving with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

He was a member of VFW Post No. 8248, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post No. 89.

Mr. Franklin was a member of Mainland Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Yvonne Franklin.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy Franklin; a stepdaughter, Celicia Gay McGraw; close friends Michael Cruser, George and Laurel Knadler, Frankie and Jessie Gentile and friends and comrades of VFW Post 8248 and Ladies Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or the charity of your choice.
