Lady Tigers set to close out season on a net high note

Reporter/Cliff Dungan The Rockdale Lady Tigers were swept in two District 23-3A losses in the past week as the season edges to a close.

Rockdale is now 7-22 on the year and 1-8 in district play.

The Lady Tigers fell to Giddings Tuesday night on the road 25-7, 25-12, 25-14.

Morgan Fisher paced Rockdale with five digs, while Kathryn Dodd had four assists, Krista Phillips three kills, Lisa Vest and Victoria Drake a block and an ace.

The junior varsity lost 25-10, 25-12, while the freshmen won 25-23, 25-18.

The Lady Tigers were downed by Smithville 26-24, 25-16, 26-24 on the road.

Drake dominated for Rockdale with nine kills, eight assists and two service aces.

Vest and Phillips contributed four digs each with Vest putting down three blocks.

The junior varsity lost 25-20, 25-19.

Rockdale closes out the season by hosting No. 7 LaGrange Friday and travelling to Navasota on Tuesday.
