Get in the holiday spirit with cottage, tour, gift exchange
Cheryl Walker
The holiday season is just around the corner and there are three activities that just may be what you need to get in the holiday spirit. The Christmas Cottage on Nov. 5, the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange on Nov. 22 and the Holiday Tour on Dec. 3 to Granbury. You may want to mark your calendar for one, two or three of these holiday activities.

CHRISTMAS COTTAGE– Christmas Cottage is a time for you to look or buy holiday gifts and decorations from local crafters. On Friday, Nov. 5 stop by Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get in the holiday spirt.

Admission to the Christmas Cottage is free, but you can buy lunch from one of the three Milam County Extension Education Association (EEA) clubs. Lunch choices will cost $3 to $3.50 plus drinks and desserts. You can select from stew, chili, stuffed potatoes, and a variety of desserts.

EEA clubs and the Family and Consumer Sciences Committee are sponsoring the event to get you thinking about the holiday season. EEA club members will also be sharing holiday decorating ideas during a program from 10-11 a.m. Come and stay as long as you can at the Christmas Cottage so you can be in the holiday mood.

Contact the Texas AgriLife Extension Service - Milam County office for additional information, 254-697-7045 or 7047.

GIFT IDEA EXCHANGE– For over 10 years, 4-Hers in Milam County have conducted the annual Holiday Gift Idea Exchange free for the public. 4-Hers across the county will be demonstrating holiday decoration and food ideas as well as providing refreshments, door prizes and handouts to illustrate the demonstrations.

Come join the fun at the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange on Monday, Nov 22 at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron. It also puts the audience in the holiday mood.
