Camp Hearne, a prisoner of war camp for captured German military men from 1942 to 1946, lived again in a Saturday open house which showcases restoration activities. A special guest was author Heino Erichsen (R), a former prisoner. Camp Hearne, which was the first, and largest, of American World War II POW camps, now includes a 1942 U. S. Army barracks. Twenty indicted by Milam Grand Jury
CAMERON—Twenty persons were indicted Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears, who listed true bills as follows:
• Joshua Seelke, 24, Rockdale, burglary of habitation.

CAPARO to hear about sale
The pending sale of 11,000 acres of Alcoa’s former Rockdale Operations will be the topic of discussion when the Community Advisory Panel to Alcoa Rockdale Operations (CAPARO) meets Nov. 8 in the Alcoa Lake Training Center.

Dana Andrews program set for Nov. 4th
Carl Rollyson, journalism professor at Baruch College of the City University of New York, will host a program on actor Dana Andrews fro, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the city library.
Rollyson, is writing a biography of Andrews. The program is entitled “Dana Andrews: The Road From Rockdale to Hollywood.” Full Story
