Ladies ministry offers Bible study series here
The ladies ministry of Rising Star Baptist Church invites all women interested to attend an upcoming series of Bible Study.
The first six weeks of study will be “Women Who Dance,” led by Lisa Dennis. Classes will start Sunday, Nov. 7 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 12. Classes will meet each Sunday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Citizen’s National Bank Community Room, 140 E. Cameron Ave.

Gospel meetings at Church of Christ
There will be a series of gospel meetings conducted by the Rockdale Church of Christ, 204 N. Main St., beginning Nov. 7 through Nov. 12. The gospel will be preached by Charles Gant and the public is invited.
“Admission is free and no collections will be taken nor solicited,” Gant said.
Meeting times are Sunday, Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 8 through Friday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

‘Operation Christmas Child’ collection at Rockdale FBC
The Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child collection will be held Nov. 15-20 at First Baptist Church-Rockdale, according to spokesperson Barbara Clark.
“Use a shoebox or plastic shoebox for items such as school supplies, hygeine items, small toys, hard candy, gun and sunglasses. Boxes can be wrapped or unwrapped,” Clark said. “Also enclose a personal note if you like.”

138th anniversary for Springfield Nov. 21
Springfield Baptist Church, 232 East Third Street in Rockdale, will celebrate its 138th anniversary and homecoming at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 with the public invited, according to Rev. S.L. Ross, pastor.
Pastor J.R. Roberson of New Flower Hill Baptist Church in Smithville will be the speaker.
Springfield was established in 1872 before Rockdale was incorporated as a city.
Annual Lord’s Acre Nov. 14 at St. John’s
St. John’s United Methodist Church will hold its annual Lord’s Acre fund-raiser Sunday, Nov. 14 at noon, featuring a barbecue meal, an auction of arts, crafts, baked goods, theme baskets, gift certificates, children’s items, frozen “meals in a minute,” a silent auction, and more.

Next men’s breakfast ahead at Meadowbrook
The monthly second-Tuesday communit y men’s fellowship breakfast will be 7 to 8 a.m. Nov. 9 at St. John’s United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Purpose of the monthly meetings are to allow men of all denominations to gather for food, fellowship and a brief devotion. These breakfasts rotate between several local churches.
