McIrvin

....Fun eral serv ice s for D onna L. McIrvin, 53, were held Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Jan Campbell of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Ms. McIrvin died Saturday, Oct. 30, at her home near Rockdale.

She was born on Nov. 30, 1956 in Rockdale to Robert Cecil McIrvin Sr. and Lucille Luetge McIrvin.

Ms. McIrvin grew up in Rockdale on the family farm and attended Rockdale schools. She was a 1975 graduate of Rockdale High School.

After graduation, she worked a number of years as a nurse’s aide in area nursing homes.

Ms. McIrvin was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was baptised on Jan. 6, 1957, and confirmed on May 30, 1971. She served in several capacities within the church.

She was involved in the Murray Cemetery Association.

Ms. McIrvin was a longtime employee of Intercraft in Taylor until they closed. She then worked at Brookshire Brothers in Rockdale and was currently working at the Rockdale Walmart, serving as the food department manager.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Ms. McIrvin was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Orley and Goldie Eagleburger McIrvin and Otto and Selma Kirchenwitz Luetge.

Survivors are a brother, Robert Cecil McIrvin Jr. of Rockdale; and three sisters, Shirley McIrvin, Delores Beran and Debbie McIrvin, all of Rockdale; also several nephews and a niece.

Pallbearers were James David, Skylar David, Logan David, Derek David, John Elbert Fischer, Justin McIrvin, Ryan McIrvin, Ernesto Perez Jr., Paul Unger, Robert von Gonten and Dylan David.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
