Melcher

Services for Irma Melcher, 96, of Fedor were held Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor with Rev. Leif Hasskarl officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Fedor.

Mrs. Melcher died Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.

She was born July 2, 1914, in Fedor to Carl and Bertha (Exner) Kaiser.

She married August Melcher on Jan. 17, 1932, in Fedor.

Mrs. Melcher was a farmer and homemaker and a lifelong resident of Fedor.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor.

Mrs. Melcher was preceded in death by her husband; four sisters, Hedwig Schneider, A lma Biehle, Emily Herklotz and Amanda Drosche; and four brothers, Ludwig, Martin, Edgar and Paul Kaiser.

Survivors are a son, Reuben Melcher and wife Ernie of Rockdale; three daughters, Helen Iselt and husband Leonard of Austin, Martha Craig and husband James of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Joanna Swanson and husband Abe of Round Rock; a brother, Walter Kaiser of Lexington; and a sister, Betty Peck of Missouri; also, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lester Melcher, Michael Iselt, Eric Iselt, Kris Ingram, Kevin Ingram and Stephen Reed.
