Convict ‘no-show’ results in arrest of local woman
In one of the stranger arrest warrants ever ser ved by the Rockdale Police Department, a 51-year-old local woman was arrested Saturday and charged with failure to report to jail.
Clara Renae Ruthford was arrested by Ofc. Dale Bekker on a Milam County Sheriff’s Department warrant for unauthorized absence from community corrections. Full Story
Milam men charged with BNSF theft
Two Milam County men have been charged in connection with the theft of railroad property from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) in Cameron.
Lt. Kris Stringer of the Cameron Police Department said Zakara Adam Krumnow, 20, of Cameron, and 19-year-old Sergio Alonzo of Ben Arnold were arrested Thursday after an investigation by police and BNSF. Full Story

Eleven draw district court sentences
CAMERON—Eleven persons drew sentences in 20th District Court during the past two weeks, according to Prosecutor Kerry Spears, who listed case dispositions as follows:
• William Cory Jimenez, 30, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), 12-month state jail term, $140 restitution. Full Story
DPS warns residents of phony policeman
The Depar tment of Public Safety in Bell, Williamson and Coryell Counties were warning residents about a possible police impostor.
Two of those counties, Bell and Williamson, border Milam County.
Tela Mange, DPS spokesperson, said the impostor drives an unmarked car with police-type lights and has been stopping motorists in the area. Full Story
