Milam men charged with BNSF theft

Two Milam County men have been charged in connection with the theft of railroad property from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) in Cameron.

Lt. Kris Stringer of the Cameron Police Department said Zakara Adam Krumnow, 20, of Cameron, and 19-year-old Sergio Alonzo of Ben Arnold were arrested Thursday after an investigation by police and BNSF.

Each was charged with theft of property ($1,500 to $20,000) and Krumnow was also charged with several bond surrenders. Bond was set at $32,500 on Krumnow and $25,000 on Alonzo.

Stringer said charges involved 165 metal plates, valued at a total of $3,300, used to hold tracks to the ground.
