Lt. J. D. Newlin said Vanette Yumon Wilburn was charged with criminal mischief and was released after posting $3,500 bond.
Newlin warned utility customers. “If you get cut off by the city and you find a way to turn the utility back on, that’s a Class A misdemeanor offense and you are subject to arrest,” he said.
ARRESTS— Police made two warrant arrests for Lee County during the week.
Zelma Elaine Mitchell, 55, of Rockdale was arrested for probation violation (theft under $1,500) with two prior convictions. She was released and was to turn herself in to Lee County authorities.
Gracie Marie Macias, 34, of Austin was charged with probation violation (hindering secured creditor). Bond was denied.
Police also made a public lewdness arrest of a male juvenile following an incident at Rockdale High School. The subject was turned over to juvenile authorities.
WRECKS— No injuries were reported in a vehicle-cow collision at 8:29 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of West Cameron Avenue (US 79).
Police listed the driver as Greg Brinkley of Rockdale. Damages were not listed by police.
CITATIONS— Citations issued during the past week included 13 for speeding, four each for expired license plates and driving while license invalid, two each for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving without a license and no MVI sticker and one each for driving the wrong way on a one-way street, failure to report change of name/ address, improper passing, parking in a no-parking school zone and running a stop sign.
Two citations were issued for curfew violation.
SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 133 total calls for service during the week, and 64 through the 911 system.
