Henry

Services for Milford Barton Henr y, 86, of Rockdale were held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Rockdale Christian Church with Pastor Harry Stevenson and Rev. Calvin Springer officiating.

Mr. Henry died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at his home in Rockdale.

He was born June 14, 1924, in Norton to Milton E. and Edna Gladys (Caswell) Henry.

He married Dorris Spence on June 2, 1946, in Rockdale.

Mr. Henry was a Rockdale resident for the past 72 years, formerly living in Norton.

He was a shop foreman with Texas Utilities and retired from IGC after over 30 years.

He was a 1942 graduate of Rockdale High School.

Mr. Henry was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was founder and charter member of Rockdale Christian Church and was a former board member and elder emeritus.

Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marlyn Edward Henry and Charles Eugene Henry; and three infant siblings.

Survivors are his wife, Dorris Henry of Rockdale; a son, Barton Dale Henry of Carmine; a daughter, Darla Sue McMillan and husband John of Rockdale; and eight grandchildren, Heather Lynn Henr y Paschal, Bettina Rhea Sheppard Brondo, Kim Maria McMillan Thompson, Carla Deanne Henry, Monica Joy Sheppard Garner, Laura Sue McMillan Prince, Dorris Jean McMillan Hill and Hannah Grace McMillan; also, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Rod Spence, Claude Spence, Kyle Spence, Leroy Ellis, Doug Wilde and Vaun Henry.

Honorary pallbearers were Theo Telg, Kelly Blackburn, David Yount, Clifford Bartlett and John McMillan.
