Vansa

CAMERON—Funeral services for Emil Vansa, 80, of Burlington were held Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Burial followed in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mr. Vansa died Sunday, Nov. 14, in a Temple nursing facility.

A retired farmer, he was born March 13, 1920, in Bell County to John and Annie (Macek) Vansa.

He married Dorothy Hubnik on July 22, 1952.

Mr. Vansa had worked as foreman for American Desk Manufacturing Co. in Temple.

He was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.

Mr. Vansa was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Vansa of Burlington; a son, Charles Vansa of Temple; three daughters, Barbara McNeill of Rogers, Janet Rogillio of Fairfield, LaVerne Vansa of Temple; a brother, Steve Vansa of temple; and a sister, Albina Vrazel of Buckholts; also, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Building Fund.
