WELL PROTECTED—There was no more well protected place in Central Texas to be if a fire broke out than Rockdale on Saturday night. Volunteer fire departments from Gause to Bartlett sent pumpers and firefighters to participate in Rockdale’s annual lighted Christmas parade. Gause (above) even sent along their Miss Flame beauty contest entry. The Rockdale VFD drew double duty with several units in the parade and many of its members, and other units helping to redirect traffic around US 79.
