Reporter/Bill Martin Milano senior quarterback Thomas Sanders accrued almost 3,000 yards of total offense in the 2010 seaaon for the 8-4 Eagles. Reporter/Bill Martin Following in a long line of standout Milano quarterbacks, Thomas Sanders proved he was up to the task and may have even propelled himself to the top of the list with the kind of year he just turned in.

Sanders was rewarded for his efforts by being named the District 13A most valuable player for 2010.

Sanders shared the award with Burton quarterback Xavier Bethany who led the Panthers to a 12-1 mark and the state quarterfinals.

Seven Eagle teammates joined Sanders on the first team with lineman John Jentsch and receivers/ defensive backs Alton Taylor and Jaxson Robinson being named first team on both offense and defense.

Sanders, who led Milano to an 8-4 record and just its second playoff victory in school history, accumulated 2,981 yards of offense and accounted for 38 touchdowns.

The senior’s rushing total is a school record and his 4,100 yards of career total offense is also believed to be the best Milano mark ever.
