Volunteers still needed Tuesday for Roundup
Denice Doss
The Christmas Season is here, the time of year when “Love Came to the Earth.” That is shown everyday during this season with people helping each other. One of those ways of caring is the Christmas Roundup. Donations are still being taken all around town for this worthwhile cause. This is the collection for needy families of toys, blankets, and canned goods.

So take a minute to buy a toy to drop off and help a needy family. And if you would like to help with distribution of the boxes go out to the KC Hall on Monday to help put the boxes together and on Tuesday morning to deliver the boxes.

The Christmas light judging will be done this week on Thursday starting at 6 p.m. The winners will be announced on Friday and the awards will be given on Monday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Chamber office at 1203 W. Cameron.

Thanks to the businesses who have helped with the Turkey Giveaway this year. Some of those involved include Rockdale Signs & Photography, Rockhouse RV, Security Finance, Linwood Acres Garden Club, Texas Country Title and The Rockdale Reporter. We gave away 74 turkeys this year. Thanks to all who participated, to KRXT for helping to give them away and to The Rockdale Reporter for their help with the promotion.

Taking care of business is always something that business owners have to deal with. I would like to suggest that you go to sba.gov, the Small Business Development site. They have great information and it is all free. Check them out for some of your problems and questions you may have about your business. There are informative videos, references of other sites to visit, and good direction for your business. The many videos and articles will help you with your business issues.

Thanks to T&K Enterprises for the projector screen they donated to the Chamber to be placed in Hogan Hall. It is much appreciated and will certainly be used by the many groups who meet in our little meeting room. Your generosity is surely appreciated.

We are selling tickets for our New Year’s Eve in the Rock, New Year’s Eve Dance. The tickets are $75 for a couple which includes your beer, party favors, snacks and black-eyed peas plus a great dance and lots of fun. See you on New Year’s Eve at the KC Hall to send out the old and bring in the new.

Until next time I leave you with this...Joy to the World, The Lord has come.
