Star Creek Ranch seeks essays for 30 scholarships

THOR NDA LE—Star Creek Ranch in Thorndale, owned by the Sue Gove family, is offering 30 scholarships for Sky Ranch in Van, Texas.

Sky Ranch is a non-denominational Christian camp that teaches leadership skills along with helping children to cope with everyday challenges.

“Children chosen will spend a week of fun and fellowship at the ranch which includes water sports, group campfires and field games,” said Richard and Cheryl Schneider, spokespersons.

“The campers will also have quiet time to ref lect on what they have learned each day,” they said.

Children are asked to write an essay on “How would I tell a friend who is a non-believer about Jesus? ” There is no requirement on length and the essay can be typed. Children ages 6 to 16 are eligible to submit an essay and, if chosen, attend the camp. Deadline is Jan. 9, 2011.
