Thanks from Buddy Oney run organizers

Dear editor,

We would like to thank everyone that helped in any way with The 5th Annual Buddy Oney Toy Run.

Whether you came by and gave a toy, made a donation or made the day with us. It was a huge success with our best turn out for a toy run yet. We had 85 bikes register and several joined in with us throughout the day.

We raised a little over $6,000 and after T-shirts were paid for we split the difference of $4,857. We gave $2,428.50 to Milam County CPS Board and $2,428.50 in toys to The Rockdale Christmas Roundup.

This year we changed the way we distributed the money to help cover more of the Milam County needy children and are looking at more changes in the future.

We also want to send a special thank you to all the sponsors that helped us put this on, to Brady’s Pest Control and Perry & Perry Builders and their cookers for the great food they prepared, The Ranch, Brushy Creek, Pancho and Lefty’s, Cliff’s, Charlies bar, Nat’s.

Thanks especially The Bad To The Bone Riders for keeping these events going no matter what controversy hits us.

When this year’s proceeds are added to the past three years, the Buddy Oney Toy Run has raised a little over $26,000.

That has helped our community’s less fortunate families and needy children.

Thanks for your support. Charles Starr cr_starr@sbcglobal.net
