‘Christmas in the 40’s’ Saturday
HEARNE—Camp Hearne, a partially-restored Prisoner of War Camp, will turn back the clock for a 40s Christmas from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The camp, which housed 5,000 German POWs during World War II, will air 1940s radio recordings by Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Vera Lynn and others and will air Bob Hope’s 1943 Christmas special. Full Story

Saturday’s Christmas in Olde Town Tour of Homes drew 222 persons and is believed to be the largest event of its kind ever in Rockdale.

Milam County Court misdemeanor cases account for financial revenue for the county. Fees, fines and commissions make up over 30 percent of the annual county budget. So, I guess you might be able to say that crime does pay at least for county government.
