Milano Christmas parade winners announced

Winners have been announced from Saturday’s Milano Christmas parade. Those winning plaques and cash prizes in their respective divisions:

Bicycle/Walking– 1. Milano Dance Team.

After the parade almost 300 people enjoyed a free turkey and dressing meal sponsored by the City of Milano. Thank you to Amy Ruiz and family of Hearne for the great food.

Of course the man in red with a white beard visited with all of the young children as they named off their lists for Christmas.

The city’s annual Christmas decoration contest is set for Saturday, Dec. 18. Judging will begin at 7 p.m. and all you have to do to enter is turn your decorations on. Plaques and cash prizes will be awarded for first through fourth places at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20 at the Milano Civic Center.

Friendship Baptist Church, located seven miles south of Milano on TX 36, will present “The Christmas Story” at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. There will be a Christmas luncheon after the program. There will not be any church services on Wednesday, Dec. 22.

Milano students will let out for the Christmas break on Friday, Dec. 18. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

The Milano Opry would like to remind everyone that there will not be a show in the month of December. Plan on seeing them again Jan. 15. The Milano Opry gang would like to wish all of our fans a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Milano Athletic Booster Club has set up baseball/softball concession stand clean up days on Jan. 9 and 16, a spring “Meet the Eagles” on Feb. 10 and the annual alumni baseball and new alumni softball games set for March 5.
