Rockdale standouts LeRaven Clark and Daniel Brooks continue to rack up the honors and Tuesday were named to the Associated Press 2010 Class 3A All-State football team.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Clark was named to the second team as an offensive lineman, while Brooks was selected as honorable mention.

The senior was recently named first-team all-district on both sides of the ball.

Clark was a pre-season firstteam selection and has already verbally committed to Texas Tech.

Brooks becomes just the sixth Tiger running back to gain All-State mention and the first since Jamal Williams in 2003.

The 5-foot-9 Brooks had a breakout season in his junior year, establishing a school record in rushing for a season 1,696 yards while also scoring 22 touchdowns.

Brownwood had six players on the first team and 10 overall.

Other local players included L aGra nge rec eiver Bra ndon Wilkerson and Navasota defensive lineman Justin Whitfield on the second team and quarterback Ian Day, defensive lineman Dillon Arrington and linebacker Kesnick Jones, all of Navasota, as honorable mention.

Wilkerson and Jones were f irst team select ions a year ago.

Jaxon Shipley of Brownwood was the player of the year.

The Texa s Sports Wr iters Association team comes out at the first of the new year.
