Braden

CAMERON—Funeral services for Billy Ray Braden, 79, of Cameron were held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery near Hanover.

Mr. Braden died Monday, Dec. 13, in a Cameron nursing center.

A retired foreman for Cameron Compress, he was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Buckholts to Phillip and Maudie Irene ( Williams) Braden.

Mr. Braden was preceded in death by his wife, Ivie Dell Braden; a daughter, Lisa Aynn Williams; and a brother, Carlton Braden.

Survivors include three sons, Randy Braden and wife Nancy of Grapevine, Tommy Braden and wife Regina of Vidor, Roger Braden and wife Shirley of Caldwell; two daughters, Debbie Halsey and husband Chuck, and Karen Scott, all of Cameron; a brother, Phillip Braden of Houston; a sister, Doris Vater of Cameron; three sisters-in-law, Marie Braden and Sadie Nickels, both of Cameron, Madie Threadgill of Calvert; and 10 grandchildren, Trey Mayer, A mber Sonnier, Kara Chmiel, Kaci Carrasco, Ayla Braden, Ronnie Braden, Justin Braden, Crystal Halsey, Joshua Halsey and Joey Williams; also, 16 great-grandchildren.
