Remember that Milano and Milam County is under a burn ban. Pastures, yards and most of Milam County’s grass is very dry.

Milano students are back at school as of Tuesday and are counting down the days until spring break. The school year has gone by so fast.

There will be a Diabetic Cooking Class at the Milano Community Center across from the Milano Post Office from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to 713-364-3663 or on the web at www.nuritouch.org.

Milano Athletic Booster Club has set up baseball/softball concession stand clean up days on Jan. 9 and 16, a spring “Meet the Eagles” on Feb. 10 and the annual alumni baseball and new alumni softball games set for March 5. For more information or to play in the alumni games, contact Karen Gray at 979-777-3960 or karen@cunninghamrealestate.com.

Chad and Sherr y Lagrone, Hayleigh and Keely have returned home after visiting and celebrating Christmas with Sherry’s family in Oklahoma.

If you have children that like trains, you should take the time to go to Temple to the Railroad and Heritage Museum, located at 315 W. Avenue B. Every third Saturday is Family Day. There is so much for the kids to see and the adults have fun too. They even have a working telegraph.

Claude is retired from the railroad after more than 30 years and we made a recent visit to the museum. There was so much to see.
