Economic development summit Jan. 20
The City of Rockdale will hold an Economic Development Summit at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, in the Patterson Center, according to City Manager Kelvin Knauf.
“Purpose of the summit is for local organizations involved in economic development to discuss roles and responsibilities concerning economic development,” he said.
“Organizations will also review and comment on the draft goals and objectives for an economic development plan that is being studied by the Planning & Zoning Commission for inclusion in the Comprehensive Master Plan,” he said.
“We will also discuss how Rockdale can be more competitive in attracting businesses and jobs,” he said.
Members of the business community are urged to attend, he said.
The Jan. 20 meeting is expected to draw members of the city council, Municipal Development District and Planning & Zoning Board.
Knauf said the meeting is public but will not be in a “town hall” format.
