Korenek, Walko win 2010 county EEA awards

Each year two Milam County Extension Education Association members are recognized for their accomplishments in the organization. The 2010 winners are Nettilee Korenek for “Rookie of the Year” and Barbara Walko for “Member of the Year”. Both ladies are members of the New Salem EEA Club in Rockdale.

Membership to EEA is open to all interested persons. We have three clubs in the county: Branchville EEA, Friendly Progressive EEA and New Salem EEA.

Clubs are an association that meets for informal education on home, family, community and country. You make new friends across the county and state as you gain information on topics of interest.

You’ll get hands-on experience through workshops, tours, club meetings and fairs. Members are also involved in community service activities.
