FSA disaster program sign up underway

CAMERON–Milam County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director, Kevin Humphrey, announced that the 2009 crop year Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments (SURE) program sign-up began Monday, Jan. 10.

SURE is a disaster program that provides assistance to farmers and ranchers who have experienced losses caused by natural disasters.

“Natural disasters can turn what would be a profitable crop year into a year of hardship and financial loss,” Humphrey said.

4-H horse project group to meet Jan. 20

If you are interested in learning more about horsemanship, then you need to sign up for the 4-H horse project group. The first meeting of the group will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the home of Tarrin Warren.

The organization meeting is open to all 4-Hers, parents and leaders interested in the project.
