Wild foot chase ends in arrest

Man, 29, charged with indecency, evading arrest

Penn Penn MILANO—A 29-year- old Milano man was arrested Friday and charged with indecency with a child after a foot chase involving a deputy sheriff and two state troopers.

Charles Penn Jr. was also charged with evading arrest and resisting arrest.

He remains in the county jail in lieu of $29,000 bond.

Chief Deputy Chris White said investigator Jay Beathard was looking into a complaint involving a female victim “under age 14.”

“Investigator Beathard attempted to take Penn into custody near the Milano Cefco store,” White said. “The suspect resisted and f led on foot.”

Beathard, along with DPS Sgt.

Michael Nix and Trooper Donald

Delukie, gave chase, according to White.

“ The officers were able to catch the suspect after a chase that went through two pastures and across two fences,” he added.

Indecency with a child is a felony offense while the resisting and evading arrest charges are misdemeanors.
