Deer hit twice Friday in Milano area crash

Friday just wasn’t the right morning for a deer to try and cross US 190/Texas 36 just north of Milano.

Trooper Eric Gaston said the deer was first struck by a vehicle operated by Candis Oberdorf, 25, of Milano, then by an 18-wheeler driven by William Livsay, 55, of Lometa.

No (two-legged) injuries were reported. Damages were termed moderate to both vehicles.

No injuries were reported in an 11: 08 a. m. Saturday onevehicle accident on FM 908 south of Rockdale.

Driver was listed as Juan Orta, 51, of Rockdale.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
