Knight

CAMERON—Funeral services for Everleaner Anderson Knight, 100, of Cameron will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Lights Chapel Baptist Church in Cameron.

A public viewing is scheduled for 12-noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Dorsey Keatts Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mrs. Knight died Friday, Jan. 14.

She was born Feb. 24, 1910, to Walter and Mittie Strambler Anderson in Rabbs Prairie, near LaGrange.

She married Gabriel Brown in 1926 and gave birth to four children.

After the marriage ended, Mrs. Knight married again in 1933 to Richard Milligan and later gave birth to two children.

In 1936, tragedy struck, and she became a widow.

Mrs. Knight later moved to Cameron where she lived the remainder of her life.

By herself, she finished raising four of her children until they finished high school. Then she married Levi Knight and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Knight accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life, and was faithful to the Lord until death.

She was also preceded in death by her mother, Mittie Anderson; her father Walter Anderson; and a son, Albert Rogers.

Survivors are two sisters, Martha Williams and Rose Ida Biggs, both of Houston; and five children Samuel Rogers (and Gertie) of Houston, Sterling Rogers and Joe Raymond Rogers, both of Sacramento, California, Mable Milligan Boldin of Cameron, Edward Walter Milligan (and Carrie) of Temple; also, 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; 21 great- great- grandchildren, a great-great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
