The Lady Tigers captured their first league victory of the year by besting Caldwell 34-26 Friday night at Tiger Gym.

Rattlers dial long distance against Tigers
Navasota rains in 12 bombs in district win
While Rockdale offered up a zone defense against Navasota to solve, the Rattlers figured the further out they shot, they wouldn’t have to deal with any type of defender.
Navasota pulled the trigger on 12 three-pointers Tuesday night to silence the Tigers 65-45 at Tiger Gym in District 23-3A action. Full Story

Eagle win streak at half dozen
Milano rises to No. 9 in latest polls
The Milano boys basketball team is slowly moving up in the polls.
The Eagles are up to No. 9 in this week’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.
The team throttled opponents Holland and Bartlett of the last week and now sit at (4- 0) in District 27-A play and (20-2) on the season. Full Story
Lady Eagles are sailing uncharted territory
Milano seeking first district crown since 1992
It hasn’t happened in a very long time, but the Milano Lady Eagles are eyeing a spot in the postseason and possibly a district title.
It would be the first championship for the program since 1992. One more w in and the Lady Eagles will go to the playoffs after they defeated district opponents over the week. Full Story
Lady Dogs hanging tough in district
THORNDALE—The Thorndale Lady Dogs bounced back on Tuesday night with a win over Florence at Bulldog Gym.
The girls fell hard to league leading and No. 18 Jarrell on Friday night. The Lady Dogs are now (7-3) in 27-2A play and (19- 8) on the season. Full Story
Tiger junior Ty Kirk squats 455 pounds as the Rockdale powerlifting team got its season underway in Giddings Saturday. The team competes in Smithville Saturday. Full Story
Rockdale-Cameron alumni game scheduled
There w ill be a Rockdale- Cameron alumni football game, Saturday, Feb.5 at Tiger Field, beginning at 7 p.m.
The game pits former Tiger and Yoe players against one another in a full contact football game.
Tickets are $8 and kids 10 and under get in for free. Full Story
