Second ‘big’ snow in two years falls overnight
Rockdale area residents went to bed Thursday night in Texas and awoke Friday morning in Minnesota.
In bet ween the area got socked with its second big snowfall in as many years.
Well, big for Rockdale. But this one was estimated at two to three inches. In February, 2010, the town got an unexpected five-inch snowfall. Full Story

Due to our strange Texas weather, son Kyle was off work last Friday for a snow day and it didn’t even snow in Houston. Grandsons Esten and Will were also out of school for a snow day and it didn’t snow in Victoria either! What’s up with that?

Lexington EMS to host Plummer Family Show at 7 p.m. Feb. 17th
LEXINGTON—The Plummer Family Country Music Show of Branson, Missouri, will appear at Lexington Elementary School at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17.
Their performance is a fund raiser for Lexington EMS.

Back in the late 20s and early 30s, four Moultry brothers, four Kennedy brothers and two Shields brothers had the first 10- piece jazz band in this vicinity. Full Story
