Moments after signing his letter of intent to play football at Texas Tech, Le’Raven Clark’s day just kept getting better after learning he was named first-team All- State by the Texas Sports Writers Association.
Clark becomes the first Tiger offensive tackle to be named All-State since Leigh Shepard in 1977. Full Story
Timmerman was Tigers oldest living football player
When it came to sports he was ageless. At the time of life that most people had long ago hung up their cleats, he was still out there, banging away.
Bailey Timmerman wore the moniker as Rockdale’s oldest living football player with pride.
He still possessed his 70-year old and perfectly preserved RHS lettermen’s jacket and proudly displayed it. Full Story

Tigers post up two district wins
Turnovers down, free throws up in snapping streak
GIDDINGS—The passes were crisp. The rebounds were plentiful. The free throws were timely.
Consequently, the Rockdale Tigers were rewarded for their stellar play by recording their first district victory of the season, 47-44, over Giddings Saturday afternoon at Buffalo Gymnasium.
The game was moved to Saturday because of icy conditions Friday night. Full Story
Logan David switches to Texas A&M
A f ter committing to Texas Tech to play w ith teammate Le’Raven Clark and brother Derek David, Logan has switched his alliances to Texas A&M.
David, who graduated from RHS in 2010, is currently attending Blinn where he redshirted this past season and has two more years to go. Full Story

Upstart Lago Vista surprises Thorndale at home

In the middle of a fight for a place in the post season, the Thorndale Bulldogs forgot about that ancient axium, falling to an upstart Lago Vista team 64-55 Tuesday night at Bulldog Gym.

The Rockdale Lady Tigers ended the season on a high note Tuesday with a 31-24 victory over Caldwell.
The Lady Tigers end the season at 8-21 overall and 2-8 in District 23-3A.

THORNDALE—All the No. 21 ranked Lady Dogs (22- 9, 10-4) needed to do was “win, win, win no matter what, what” and that they did.

MILANO—After having an open date on Friday, the Lady Eagles didn’t look rusty at all, beating the Bartlett Lassies 69- 48 Tuesday night at Geneva Paceley Gym.

Milano lifters aim for regional meet
MIL A NO—In just the program’s second year at Milano, six power lifting team members have a chance to qualify for regionals in the next couple of weeks.
Power lifting coach Sean Connor said that three girls and three boys on the squad are ranked in the top 25 in the region in their respective weight divisions. Full Story
First annual alumni golf tournament set
The Rockdale Country Club Mens Golf Association is sponsoring the first annual Tiger Golf Team Alumni Tournament.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 30 at the Rockdale Country Club and all proceeds will go to the RHS golf team. Full Story
