Constable unhurt as ‘sting’ suspect escapes
A suspect from a methamphetamine drug sting escaped a multiagency pursuit Monday night in a chase that involved two vehicle crashes by the wanted man and Precinct 3 Constable Herbie Vaughan.

“Give us a chance. We can fix this situation by returning to this hospital’s good old-fashioned values. They’ve worked before.”
Jeff Madison, who is again the key administrator of Richards Memorial Hospital, probably has a right to utter such an optimistic statement.

3 in, 3 out during first filing day
Two newcomers and one incumbent filed Monday, the first day to sign up for May 14 city and school elections in Rockdale.
Newcomers Lin Perry (Place 6) and Kent Bowermon (Place 7) are seeking school board terms.
Incumbents Barbara Grayson and Lisa Gerthe told The Reporter they are not seeking re-election. Full Story
YMCA exec will make presentation here on Thursday
The public is invited to an informational presentation Thursday to explore the possibility for a YMCA facility for Rockdale.
Speaker will be Jeff Andresen, president and CEO of YMCA of Greater Williamson County. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Patterson Civic Center. Full Story
