World Day of Prayer service set March 4

Rockdale’s annual World Day of Prayer observance will be held Friday, March 4 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, according to Suzanne Turner, publicist.

“The sanctuary will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for prayer,” she said.

Matthews new youth minister at Meadowbrook

David Matthews has joined Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1401 Colorado, as new youth minister, according to Rev. Rick Hertless, pastor.

“David is a dynamic leader who will bring a new dimension to the youth ministries of Rockdale,” Rev. Hertless said. “His energetic personality will be a welcome addition and he has many plans to train the students of Rockdale to be the kind of Christians who will glorify Christ.”

Bret Dillon is Meadowbrook’s new children’s director. “Bret has served at Meadowbrook for years and his expertise with the children’s ministries should prove to be an asset to our community,” Rev. Hertless said.

‘Healing Service’ Sunday at Master’s Gateway

MILANO–A “Healing Service” will be held from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27 at The Master’s Gateway Church in Milano.

“Come if you are sick in body and need prayer. We will pray for all your needs,” Rebecca Telg, spokesperson said. “Let’s believe the scriptures in James 5:14-15.”

The church is located at the intersection of US 79 E and FM 3242 (Hanover Road). Pastors are Ross and Beverly Cunningham, 979-450- 0891.

Forest Grove CC announces events

Forest Grove Christian Church will host “Teen Challenge of Texas” during morning worship on Sunday, March 13, according to Brandon Navarre, pastor. A covered-dish luncheon will follow.

From March 26 through April 6 Forest Grove members will be collecting items for a church garage sale that will be held April 9.

Rising Star golf event to aid building fund

Rising Star Baptist Church’s second annual Rising Star Golf Classic will be held at 1 p.m. (shotgun start) Saturday, March 26 at Blackhawk Golf Club, 2714 Kelly Lane, Pflugerville.

Registration will start at 11 a.m., according to Joann Bradford, publicist. Cost is $65 per player with a maximum of 72 golfers, 18 teams. Registration will provide tourney data and goodie bags.

Tournament and other prizes will be awarded at 5:30 p.m. Trophies will also be awarded for a putting challenge, longest drive and closest to-pin.

Women’s Bible study series continues here

The ladies ministry of Rising Star Baptist Church invites all women to attend Bible Study each Sunday.

Through Feb. 27: “Seven Steps to Answered Prayer.” March 6: “Women Who Dance” Part II (will continue until completed).

Men’s breakfast set March 8, Meadowbrook

Next monthly second-Tuesday ecumenical community men’s fellowship breakfast will be 7 to 8 a.m. March 8 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church fellowship hall.

Purpose is Christian fellowship. These breakfasts rotate between several local churches and all men of the Rockdale area are invited.

Morning Star trail ride to benefit ranch facility

MILANO–Morning Star Ranch, located off CR 328 southwest of Milano, will host an American Competitive Trail Horse Association trail competition, owners Andy and Rita Kay Isaacs have announced.

The two-day event will run April 30 and May 1 and funds raised will be used to help finish the Hospitality House at the ranch.

“Riders, beginners or advanced, will have fun,” Rita Isaacs said.
