Reporter/Mike Brown If you want to learn more about the commercial heifer division at the Rockdale Fair, make plans to attend the free training on Feb. 28 at the New Salem Building on the Rockdale Fairgrounds.

The training will start at 6 p.m.

Dr. Jason Cleere, associate professor and extension livestock specialist will be the guest speaker. The training will focus on selection, weaning, feeding, target weight, breeding and body score of commercial/ replacement heifers.

This training is being sponsored by the Commercial Heifer Committee of the Rockdale Fair and the Texas Agrilife Extension Service–Milam County Office.

LAST CHANCE CEU–Anyone who may need to earn a few last minute CEU hours for their Pesticide Applicator License renewal will have the opportunit y to attend four 3 hour CEU sessions, at which you can accumulate as many as 12 hours of CEUs. The sessions will take place at 9 a.m and 1 p.m. each day on Feb. 24-25.

Each session will offer 3 hours, and each will have at least one hour of laws and regulations and integrated pest management.

There is no pre-registration required. The sessions will be held at the FIRM Center across the street from the extension office. If you have any questions, please call 254-697-7045.
