Ross

Services for Gerty Jayne Ross, 80, of Rockdale were held Saturday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. Rebecca Nuelle-Fox of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Ross died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock.

A Rockdale resident for the past 54 years, she was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Sharp to Larkin Floyd and Gertrude (Graves) Hargrove.

She married Robert Ross on Nov. 22, 1950, in Austin.

Mrs. Ross went to work at Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations in 1952 in accounting. She then worked for Commercial Contractors until she retired.

She was a graduate of Sharp High School and attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.

Mrs. Ross was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had served as an elder.

She enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ross, on Sept. 14, 2009, and her parents.

Sur v ivors are a daughter, Brenda Cheryl Eggeling and husband Teddy of Round Rock; three grandchildren, Shane Kerr of Round Rock, Chelsey Martinego and husband Al of Austin, Jon Eggeling and wife Katie of Thorndale; and six great-grandchildren, Makenlee Worley, Taylor Kerr, Madacyn and Parker Martinego, Jacob and Grayson Eggeling.

Pallbearers were Jason Worley, Roger Pack, Jack Drake, Mark Ross, Jon Eggeling and Willie Barcak.

Honorary pallbearers were Frank Felton, Clyde Hargrove, Ronnie Wiley, Dr. John Armour, J.W. Eggeling and Ted Ott.
