Former coach ‘no billed’ in student relationship
A former Rockdale High School coach was no billed (not indicted) Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury in connec t ion w it h a December arrest alleging an improper relationship with a female student.
Christopher Tremayne Tayl or, 31 , was charged with “improper relationship between educator and student,” on Dec. 16, 2010.
The arrest came after an investigation by police into reports of a relationship between Taylor and an 18-year-old female, who was not one of his students.
Even though the female indicated in the charge is beyond the age of consent, criminal charges may be filed in the event of an “improper” educator-student relationship, according to Texas law.
The police affidavit states the student and the teacher eventually admitted to having sex “on more than one occasion” in the coach’s apartment.
Police said students were interviewed in the course of their investigation after reports of the relationship began to circulate.
Taylor was a first-year assistant football and track coach.
Taylor is a former Madisonville High School and Texas A&M University football standout.
He was an assistant football coach during the fall and would have been an assistant track coach after classes began in 2011.
Taylor, who is no longer employed by the Rockdale ISD, is the father of two children.
