Milano found themselves down early with turnovers, fouls and trailing 21-15 at the half.  The Eagles surged in the third, outscoring Evadale 12-3 in the third frame and going up 27-24 at the end of three.

The Rebels would rally back late in the fourth using their overpowering size to jump ahead. (They have four players over 6-0, on is 6-7).  Hitting just 27.2 percent of their shots on the night, Milano just couldn’t overcome the deficit.  The Eagles were just 7 of 18 from the free throw line.

Senior Thomas Sanders led all scorers with 19.  Sophomore Dominique Messer was the Eagles top defensive player with eight rebounds and four blocks.

It was the first time since 1997 that Milano’s boys basketball program had reached the regionals round of the post season.
