Horse calls keep deputies busy

Saturday’s warrant roundup wasn’t the only “roundup” during the week for the Milam County Sheriff’s Department.

Eight calls involving horses were handled by deputies during the past week, five on FM 487 and one each on US 77, CR 228 and CR 342.

NATURAL DEATH— Chief Deputy Chris White was called to an unattended natural death at 7:50 a.m. Thursday on County Road 358.

CALLS—Sheriff David Greene listed calls during the past week for his department as follows:

March 1—Alarm detected, CR 401, Davilla; welfare concern, CR 343, Gause area; burn ban violation, CR 209, Buckholts; assist person, US 79, Milano; welfare concern, Milano; harassment, CR 303, Rockdale area; debris in roadway, US 79, Rockdale; arrest made, CR 302, Rockdale area.

March 2—Suspicious person, CR 214, Cameron area; civil matter, West Avenue D, Milano; theft, North Fourth, Milano; family matter, Gause; suspicious activity, US 79, Gause; loud music, US 190; telephone harassment, US 79, west of Gause; medical call, Milano area.
